Experienced Lawyer - Experienced Businessman

Focusing on: Business Law - Family Law - Personal Injury

Hello, and thank you for visiting my website.

So why are you here? Well, presumably, you've got a problem to solve or an opportunity to seize that requires legal expertise. And you're looking for a lawyer who is smart, assertive, aggressive (if necessary), creative, thorough, and accurate. You want an advocate who understands you ... who will fight for you ... who gets results.

I have been an attorney in Colorado since 1997. Before that, I owned and operated an advertising agency for 20 years; before that I went to school, earning degrees in Marketing (B.S.) and Finance (M.B.A.). I used my education to develop marketing plans and advertising strategies for international, national, regional and local businesses. Today, I use this business and interpersonal experience, my legal education, and good-old common sense to create sound legal strategies and innovative tactics for negotiation, mediation and litigation, when necessary.

If you meet someone who likes going to court, he/she is either a nut or has more dollars than sense (or is a lawyer who ends every sentence with "ca-ching"). Litigation should be the option of last resort. It's expensive; it's emotionally draining; it's time consuming; it's frustrating; and you leave the decision to some guy/gal in a black robe who hears and sees things through his/her own filters, his/her perceptual set, his/her biases, predispositions and prejudices. And worst of all, when cases are not crystally clear-cut - and most are not - he/she ends up King Solomon, resulting in an outcome that could have been achieved without the extreme costs or the trials and tribulations of litigation. In short, you want a lawyer who skillfully litigates only after he has cost-effectively exhausted one or more alternative dispute resolution techniques to arrive at a reasonable settlement.

From the beginning I have operated as a solo-practitioner. (I had employees during my advertising years; now I choose to practice law, not employee management.) Since the beginning, my practice has centered on family law matters; business acquisitions, mergers and formations; and personal injury cases. The reason is simple: these are the areas of law that interest me.

Generally, I do not charge for the initial consultation. Before we decide to work together, we need to determine if I am the right lawyer for you and if you are a client whom I can help. I am also not a nit-picker when it comes to billing. I generally don't charge for photocopies, faxes, postage, mileage - things that are more trouble to keep track of than they're worth.

My practice encompasses the counties surrounding Denver - Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Douglas, Jefferson - as well as the Vail Valley - Eagle County. My principal office is located near I-25 and Colorado Blvd; I share an office in Avon just off of I-70. While my regular office hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, I will make arrangements to meet with you earlier or later and, if necessary, on weekends.

If you think that I can assist you, please call me or contact me online by completing the Contact Me page on this website.
